Embrace the sophisticated warmth of coastal Karnataka with our Mocha Mist Udupi Saree. Handwoven on traditional Malabar Frame looms—a heritage technique introduced to the Dakshina Kannada region nearly 150 years ago by the Basel Mission—this GI-tagged revival textile perfectly balances historical artistry with modern functional elegance.

The body features a deep, smoky plum-brown plain weave, beautifully scattered with delicate white woven buttis that offer an understated, timeless texture. The pallu makes a vibrant, contrasting statement, opening into vivid multicolour horizontal stripes of mustard yellow, red, orange, and white. Adorned with larger woven butti motifs and finished with hand-cut fringe tassels in plum and grey, it is a piece designed for the discerning individual.

Woven using premium 60s count cotton yarn for both warp and weft, this handloom saree is feather-light, breathable, and beautifully crisp against the skin. It remains perfectly structured for the Indian tropical climate, making it an essential choice for professional office wear, daytime casual affairs, and staying effortlessly cool on warm summer days.

Any Questions?

Every saree carries a story - from the loom to your doorstep. We're here to help you find answers about fabrics, care, sizing, and everything in between.

Is the Admaru (ಆದಮಾರು) an authentic GI-tagged Udupi cotton saree?

Yes. The Admaru (ಆದಮಾರು) carries GI Registration Number 224, confirming its authentic Udupi cotton origin from Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka. It is handwoven on a traditional Malabar Frame loom — a technique introduced to the region roughly 150 years ago — rather than powerloom-made or printed.

What does the Admaru Udupi Cotton Saree look like, and what occasions does it suit?

The Admaru Udupi Cotton Saree features deep plum brown and steel blue with rust orange pinstripes. Woven in lightweight, breathable cotton, it works well for office wear, daily draping, and casual outings, and is especially suited to warm, humid weather thanks to the airy Malabar loom weave.

How much does the Admaru Udupi Cotton Saree cost, and does it include a blouse piece?

The Admaru Udupi Cotton Saree is priced at ₹5,699. This saree does not include a blouse piece. It ships with quality-checked packaging, sourced directly from Dakshina Kannada's weaving community.

How do I wash and care for the Admaru Udupi Cotton Saree?

Gentle hand wash in cold water with mild detergent is recommended for the Admaru Udupi Cotton Saree to preserve the weave and colour. Dry in the shade rather than direct sunlight, and light starching after washing can help maintain the fabric's characteristic crispness.

Will the Admaru Udupi Cotton Saree look exactly like the product photos, and is it one of a kind?

Because the Admaru Udupi Cotton Saree is handwoven, slight variations in shade, check alignment, and motif spacing compared to the photos are natural and expected — this is a hallmark of genuine handloom work, not a defect. No two pieces are perfectly identical.
