Product Details

Woven on traditional pit looms in Bhujodi village, Kutch, Gujarat, this sunshine yellow Bhujodi saree is a study in joyful restraint. The body is a radiant plain-weave cotton scattered with tiny woven buti motifs — understated up close, quietly luminous from across a room.

A confident burnt orange-rust stripe runs along the border, grounding the warmth of the yellow without competing with it. The pallu opens into a full cascade of multicolour horizontal stripes — coral, pink, orange, white, and green — layered with fine woven bands and finished with a scalloped edge in teal and magenta with delicate tassel fringe. It is an ending that earns its drama.

Bhujodi is one of Gujarat's most celebrated weaving villages, home to the Vankar community of weavers who have practised this craft across generations. Each saree is GI-tagged, handcrafted with fine cotton yarn, breathable and feather-light — suited equally to festival mornings, family gatherings, and the everyday moments that deserve something beautiful.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Bhujodi saree?
A Bhujodi saree is a handwoven cotton saree from Bhujodi village in Kutch, Gujarat — one of India's most celebrated weaving clusters. Made by the Vankar community on traditional pit looms, Bhujodi sarees are GI-tagged for their geographic and cultural origin. They are known for their distinctive woven borders, colourful pallus, and fine cotton weave that is breathable in India's warm climate.

Is this saree suitable for everyday wear?
Yes — pure handloom cotton makes this saree breathable, lightweight, and comfortable for all-day wear. It works beautifully for festive occasions, office wear, casual outings, and family celebrations. The sunshine yellow with multicolour pallu makes it versatile across both formal and informal settings.

What blouse colour suits a sunshine yellow Bhujodi saree?
The rust-orange border pairs naturally with a burnt orange or terracotta blouse for a warm, cohesive traditional look. For a bolder contrast, a teal or magenta blouse echoes the scalloped pallu edge. A plain white blouse keeps the focus on the multicolour pallu and works well for daytime wear.

Does this saree come with a blouse piece?
No — this saree does not include a blouse piece. A contrasting blouse in terracotta, teal, or coral is recommended to complement the multicolour pallu.

How do I wash a Bhujodi cotton saree?
Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent. Do not wring or machine wash — gently press out the water and dry flat in shade. Iron on medium heat while slightly damp. The natural cotton and dyes are best preserved with cold, gentle washing.
